The deteriorating economy continues to affect people in a real way, per this report. The unemployment rate is now 6.5%, the worst in 14 years. Jobs lost in October: 240,000. Evidence that things will improve soon: scant.

You are right, with things being as bad as they currently are, make sure that you are getting good advice before making any rash decisions. If you do have a job, it is a good time to make sure you are one of the indispensable employees.
