NJ Supreme Court Extends Deadlines Due to Sandy

As most of the western world knows, Hurricane Sandy has hobbled New Jersey for the last couple of weeks.  Because of the disruption to the community, and law firms in particular, the Supreme Court has cut everyone some slack.  By order of November 9 the Court ruled that "the computation of time periods under the Rules of Court and under any statute of limitations, Monday, October 29, 2012 through Friday, November 16, 2012, for purposes of filing deadlines, shall be deemed the same as legal holidays."

I'm not sure that anyone around here thinks of Sandy as anything resembling a holiday, but we know what the court meant.  They did the right thing, and justice will be better served because of it.
